a break//nyc

i am finally finishing a massive post i made a month ago! i went to nyc for spring 10 fashion week and here's some of the stuff i saw:::

ART::: i got to see steve and starr keene, the artist and architect, and i made starr (in the middle) a chromat striped dress!

BEACH::: astrid and i fulfilled out last summer fantasies and went to the beach.

afterwords, astrid pretended like we were still at the beach as she walked barefoot in a bikini around the city.

PARTY::: we checked out some hip fashion parties! i took some secret shots of some real trendsetters! denim jackets, fedoras, ripped black tights, lace up flat boots, platinum blondes, it's all there people!

ART::: we went to chelsea for the thursday gallery openings. our friend pete watts had an opening at a warehouse out in brooklyn and his boss, murikami, had an opening at the gagosian. but this show below was the coolest: it was about digital technology and it was so pretty. i forgot what it was called and where it was. the gallery next to the gas station in chelsea! ya know, that one!

FASHION::: oh yeah and i went to the tents at bryant park! here's a nice little outfit of stripes and spots.

here's the mob of people just standing at the entrance to the tents, waiting to take pictures of fancy people (like myself) leaving the fashion shows.

so i think the photographer below is garance dore. not sure!

haha, yeah these people dressed like this at like 10am! crazy!

notice this great boy in hotpants, tights, heels, a fur stole, a bowl cut... man it just goes on and on...
and this guy dressed in crazy outfits everyday of the shows! i caught him 2 days in a row: once he sat next to me and i had to be stealth about the camera... hence the low angle...
AND THEN IF ART AND FASHION AND BEACH AND PARTIES WASNT ENOUGH...
ARCHITECTURE! ::: 2 professors from uva- natalie gattegno and jason johnson - had an opening at the van alen institute for architecture... their project was about the melting of the ice caps and how human interventions have affected the environment... mostly it just looks amazing and i got to see all my pals from undergrad!
yeay! nyc!
